LEARN:

The PURPOSE of learning is about learners being prepared for their future and reaching their fullest potential as lifelong learners. This means that they have a voice with the confidence to express their ideas and opinions so they are heard and taken into account in any situation.

Learning is the PROCESS of acquiring new understanding, knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, attitudes, and preferences. The ability to learn is possessed by humans, non-human animals, research shows that there is also evidence for some kind of learning in certain plants.

How is learning best defined? "A process that leads to change, which occurs as a result of experience and increase the potential of improved performance and future learning."

Personal characteristics influencing learning include: motivation, prior knowledge, learning styles, self-learning, cognitive abilities, and types of teaching. These include external factors, environmental, social interactions, and resources.

How does someone actually learn?

Visual- a visual learner prefers to see things. Auditory- Such learners like to listen and hear information. Verbal- Linguistic learners enjoy reading, writing and word play. Physical- Kinesthetic or physical learners are hands-on, performing a task. Logical- These learners have a mathematical brain. They can recognize patterns easily and connect concepts. Social- These learners are known as interpersonal learners. They communicate well both verbally and non-verbally. Solitary- Intrapersonal learners like their solitude. They spend a lot of time with their own thoughts and works best with the least distractions. We will explore other ways.

GROW:

What does it mean to grow as a person? This can be called many things, from personal development and self-improvement to personal growth - all of which describe how you grow and change internally. Growth is not necessarily linear. It can expand in all directions and in all areas of someone's life.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH: "Grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," (2 Peter 3:18).

Spiritual growth- is the PROCESS of developing a connection with a higher power, or something greater than oneself, and learning more about God. It can also involve- Discovering your inner self, Exploring the deeper meaning of life, Developing a meaningful relationship with others or a higher power, Recognizing transcendence and unity, Becoming more like Christ:

Study the Bible, pray, setting spiritual goals, practicing self-care, showing love to others, practice daily gratitude, identify your personal values and so much more ...

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH: Seek ongoing learning to be knowledge about best practices in your field.

Professional growth is the process of developing skills and experiences to advance your career. It can involve- taking on new challenges; learning new skills; gaining new qualifications; volunteering; etc.

Professional growth can help you stay relevant in your industry and workplace. It can also demonstrate your ambition, tenacity, and self awareness.

Ways to promote professional growth: Some examples include-

PERSONAL GROWTH:

What does it mean to grow as a person? Personal growth and development is a process of self-improvement that involves developing new behaviors and attitudes, and becoming more aware of yourself. You grow and develop your social skills.

Some ways to grow as a person:

Identify your personal values. Understand yourself; Setting goals; Taking action; Being resilient; Improving your skills; Enhancing your well-being; Eat and drink that which is healthy and will nurture your body; Travel and learn about other cultures- and much more. We will explore other ways. 

SERVE:

MANDATE TO SERVE: The mandate to serve comes from God himself and is found in (Matthew 28:19-20). Jesus gave the command in the Great Commission to "go" and He instructed "where to go" and "what to do."

The community in which you serve is global.

This global community has its reach beyond the walls of the church.

What is the spiritual meaning of serve? "Serving is a form of worship, a way to express gratitude for what Jesus has done for us, and to share the love and grace we have been given. It is to love God with all that we are, obeying, and enjoying him forever.

The meaning of "serve" is twofold:

[1] To follow Jesus, to love and serve God.

[2] To love others, which means we should serve others.

SERVE: This is work done for others.

Jesus explains that His sheep are those who serve others - feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, show hospitality to strangers, clothe the naked, and.

God calls us to His service by supplying us with grace, talent and passion so that we may better accomplish His PURPOSES in the world.

We should serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do.

Why is serving important?

Service is a powerful contributor to our happiness, fulfillment, and overall life satisfaction. Research shows that helping others is often associated with and can lead to higher levels of happiness.

Some ways to serve others:

Volunteer- at a local charity organization-

Reach out to someone- who may be feeling isolated or alone and provide some words of encouragement.

Donate- to local organization, help the needy

Listen- Give people your full attention and listen to their concerns.

Be empathetic- Show understanding and compassion for others.

Mentor- Provide guidance and support to someone who is starting their career or facing challenges.

Send a care package- Show someone care, send a care package to brighten their day.
